Exhibition Commemorates Maria Callas

A special exhibition will be held in Korea to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of Maria Callas, fondly referred to as the "goddess of opera". The exhibition, which will be held until November 9th at the Euijeongbu Arts Center, will display 14 opera costumes once worn by Callas, 30 photographs, necklaces, bracelets, jewelry, glasses, personal letters, albums, videos and books. The displayed articles had been on permanent display at the Maria Callas Exhibition Hall in the Italian city of Sirmione. Maria Callas`s name shines in the Hall of Fame of world opera. Even the term "BC" in opera refers to "before Callas". The world-famous opera house "La Scala" in Milan, Italy, endowed her with the moniker "the goddess of Opera".
